Footage from Seoul

I found this video when I was sorting through photos on my hard drive. It was a pleasant surprise because I forgot that I had shot a short video clip while I was in South Korea. I wanted to capture one last memory as I rode the bus from Seoul (서울) to Incheon  International Airport (인천국제공항). The moment that I discovered it again, I knew I had to turn the footage into some sort of video project for this blog.

This weekend I began composing music for the video. I tend to be very picky about what I create in terms of music, so it’s usually a challenging task. Most of my work ends up being shelved or trashed. However, this time it felt as though things came together naturally.

I spent many hours trying to create a song that meant something despite there being no lyrics. No matter what, I am proud of the result that I’ve achieved. It’s not perfect but the fact that extremely self critical me is happy with the final product feels so great.

I tried to make the footage artistic and visually interesting because it would be quite boring to watch 5.5 minutes of unedited scenery. I wanted to portray visuals that would correlate with the emotional aspects of my own experience and the music.

Anyways, here’s what I ended up with!

I hope you’re having a lovely week so far!

It seems like it’s a bit of a weird week with everything going on in the world, but there are so many amazing things happening under our noses.
