I wanted to do something special the day before I departed Korea to return home. What’s more special than climbing a mountain and taking in the beauty of Seoul 서울? It seems like a necessity to hike in the mountains at least once when I’m in Korea since I’ve done it every time I’ve been back.
One of the things that I noticed in Seoul 서울 was that when riding the subway, there would always be a number of older people decked out in athletic wear. It’s a common thing for some of them to go hiking in the mountains on a regular basis. I thought it was great and was excited that I was finally able to join them.
Achasan 아차산 is where I decided to go since it’s a fairly easy hike at around 287m and takes roughly less than an hour. It was a hot and muggy day when I went but at least it didn’t rain!
