Harmony (A Mother’s Day Post)

Thank you for forcing me to take piano lessons for 13 years.
Thank you for forcing me to do extra homework over every summer break during grade school.
Thank you for teaching me the importance of cleanliness.
Thank you for raising me in a home with access to a lot more resources than a human’s basic needs.
Thank you for giving me the bigger bedroom even though I was the youngest.
Thank you for showing me how to be kind to others.
Thank you for being there for all of my performances throughout the years.
Thank you for encouraging all of my musical and creative endeavors.
Thank you for taking me out on weekly restaurant dates.
Thank you for believing in me when I stopped believing in myself.
Thank you for teaching me that it’s okay to ask for help.
Thank you for letting me grow and heal at my own pace.
Thank you for listening to me without criticism or judgement.
Thank you for being a positive role model for not just myself, but so many others.
Thank you for making the world a better place through your hard work and compassion.

Most importantly, thank you for choosing me to be your daughter and my brother to be your son when we needed a mom.
I can’t imagine anyone else who could be more perfect than you for the role._DSC0107
