I’ve never been to the May Day festival at Powderhorn Park prior to this year. It’s an annual event that began in 1975 put on by In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theater and has grown significantly since then. It was a very interesting experience with a lot of great sights to see and various causes represented among the various booths.
It’s events like this where I am grateful to live in the Twin Cities area because so many diverse types of people were gathered together in a collective, supportive and respectful manner. I really like when humanity can just exist peacefully together despite our differences.
